Funeral services will be held a.m Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Evangelical Church in Glasgow with Tom Fauth officiating. A memorial service and interment will be held in Glasgow, Montana at a later date.

Marie Helena Nelson Hobby, the daughter of Ralph and Mabel Nelson, was born on December 5, 1935 in Glasgow, Montana.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Jennie; wife, Millie; son Jeff; daughter-in-law, Pam; grandson, Dru; sister-in-law, Theda; twin sister, Merridith “Sis” Kummerfeldt; and followed by his brother John “Jack” Geer later that day. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Transfiguration Catholic Church in Marietta, Georgia on Tuesday, January 16 at am with Father Fred Wendel officiating.

Bud is survived by his children Bob (Ferna) Geer, Dan (Patty) Geer, Zane (Dixie) Geer, Shelley Geer, Joel Geer; grandchildren Zane, Tammy, Matthew, Callin, Doni, Tanner, Lindsey, Jason, Justin, Jake, Jessie, Tara, Ryan, Autumn, and Amber; great-grandchildren Wally, Miles, Dawsyn, Owen, Cody, Tommy, Katy, Sam, Amanda, Kat, Allan, Kayla, Logann, Quinn, Buddy, Rowan, and Aadn; great-great-grandchild, Craig; and nieces and nephews Karen (Will) Taylor, Kurt (Tammy) Kummerfeldt, Charlene Schlotte, Diane (Pete) Nagel, Beverly (Jerry) Freeman, Laurie Mc Connell, Monte (Lonnie) Geer, Mary (Dave) Jensen and Chuck (June) Geer. A visitation will be held at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta on Monday, January 15 from to pm, with a prayer service to follow at pm.

Aside from weekly visits to friends in a retirement community, she also played cards at the East Cobb Senior Center.

She made good friends in Georgia and touched many lives.

Julia was born December 23, 1922 near Lustre, Montana to Dan and Helen (Peters) Teske.

Her family lived in New Deal for three or four years, in one of the nicest houses.

Marie Nelson married Arvid Hobby on April 28, 1956 in Glasgow, Montana and had one daughter, Sandra.

As a mother, Marie kept busy helping at her daughter’s school and attending the school performances of her daughter and many nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandy (Ron) Richards, and two grandsons, Stephen (Nora) and Andrew Richards.
